Shiny Shinerai

It's an iridescent golden Shinerai!

I wanted to make a Shiny Shin because I always pronounce his name wrong, making the first "i" a long vowel.

He was originally supposed to be running, but with the wings out, it came out more as flying... I had a hard time figuring out what Shin would look like running with such short arms and long legs.

I got a bit carried away with the experimenting on this one as well as the entire piece in general, but it turned out great. I used repeated images of a fractal I made to create the overall texture and movement of the background. (except for some reason it kind of disappeared on the bottom right) The texture on Shin's neck is all done by hand (tiny little circles).

I started drawing th spiral and then thought of doing a Fibonacci spiral to go along with the whole gold idea, but it didn't quite fit right. So it's just a spiral.

One thing that really bothers me though is the perspective on the crest. I did that part over, and over, but every time I redid it, I would mess up the rest of the head a little bit. I got the head to just how I wanted it, and did not want to do the crest again, so I left it. I think I started with the right perspective at the top, but then lost it further down. Aw well.
